Established in 1998, Servimedia is today the reference, domestic and international, Specialised News Agency for Social Information and the third Spanish News Agency for general information. Servimedia is, too, an essential component of ONCE Foundation that publicises the equal opportunities message for society at large.
Through its News Teleprinter, used by the leading Spanish communications media, the daily releases of Servimedia social information are increasingly relevant in Spanish society.
Servimedia News Service is currently active throughout the year and releases an average of 200 daily reports, about half of general news (political - parliamentary and financial information).
While society news, culture, education, disability, women, immigration, environment, volunteer work, NGOs, etc., take up the other half.
Newer products, projects and services, indispensable to meet news and communications demands, have been developed by Servimedia to ensure an integral service to institutions, non-profit organisations and other agencies active in the social area. In this connection, besides the News Service, Servimedia is increasingly active in other areas such as Communication, Printed and Digitised Materials Publishing and Specialised Daily Newspapers Round–ups.
At this time, over 100 professionals that enclose journalists, designers, research assistants and other specialists are employed by Servimedia and of them about 40% are disabled professionals.
